Making Homes Affordable Program

Making Home Affordable

The Making Homes Affordable Program is President Obama’s plan which enables qualified homeowners to obtain a modification that would reduce the mortgage payment to 31% of their gross income, put all the arrears at the end of the loan, and if necessary, reduce the interest rate down to 2% and extend the loan up to 40 years.

Many lenders refuse to screen homeowners for this program in an effort to force them into in-house modifications, forbearance, or foreclosure.
